Setup Configuration

Material

Estimated reading: 6 minutes 4374 views

Material is the basic substance used to create signs (e.g. wood, vinyl, acrylic, etc.). ASO, our signs customiser for Shopify App, makes it the starting point for any configuration.

1. Add a material

To add a material, click on the “Add new material” button in the view you have after clicking on “materials” on the configuration list  page.

Then enter a name, a description, an icon, an illustrative image for the material, and the material type, which is important for the rest of the configuration. This information is used in the customizer to help your customers identify the material.

By clicking on the save button, you’ll see the list of added material. Depending on the type of material, the material setting will differ.

1.1 Manage material simple

Click on the “Manage” of simple material button and configure the various elements: size, color, shape, borders, fixing methods, allow text and images and additional components.

1.1.1 Set up size

In here you create and define standard sizes for your signs. You can specify default dimensions such as small, medium, and large, or create custom sizes based on your specific requirements.

Here you have ‘add new size’. To get started click on ‘Add new sizes’.

Next, fill in a label for your size and follow up with Width and Height and put in a base price and minimum character text to start applying the base price. Follow it up by putting the maximum text character and character price and then you click on save.

1.1.2 Color

Here you create the color options available for your materials.

To do that you click on “color” which is next to sizes and you click on “add material color”.

Depending on the material properties, the color can either be an image or a solid color:

  • If it’s a solid color, you can choose it from the color palette.
  • If it’s an image-based material, upload the corresponding image to represent the color.
  • Color adding process:

Now that you’ve clicked on ‘Add material color,’ you put in a name for the color you want and upload an image that will be shown as the preview of the color you choose.

Next, choose a color or use an image which is under the ‘Use color pattern’ that represents the color you want. When ticked ‘no’ you use a color and when ticked ‘yes’ you use an image instead of a color.

In the ‘enable text color’ section, you can choose to enable the text color and give the color a name and a specific color or not. You can choose to add an additional price for the color if you wish too.

To create another section without leaving the current one you are in, Click on ‘Add Color’ which is down below after the additional price section and you can create how many you want and click on save.

1.1.3 Shape

In Here you set up shapes for your signs, such as triangle, square and ovals.

Click on Add new Shape to begin and Select the shape you want to use and add an additional price to it, as simple as that and you are all done but yes here to you may notice but you can add more shape to at the same time and save them all together too.

In here you select a border styles. Borders can add a professional touch to your signs.

Click on add new border to begin and when done select a border you want and put in and additional price. You can exclude shape to which this border won’t be used with same with the size so you can also exclude size for this border and when done you click save to save what you’ve done. After saving you will see border setting and under it there is border color so all you have to do is put in a label and then name for the color and you choose the color and put in a price for it and under it there is more border options for you to click on to add more if need be for you and you can also enable custom border color which let you upload a preview image to be used for the color made.
