Neon signs and channel signs are two distinct types of signage, each with its own characteristics and construction methods.
Neon Signs: Neon signs are iconic and renowned for their vibrant, glowing illumination. They are crafted using glass tubes filled with neon gas, which emits a bright and colorful light when an electrical current is applied. Neon signs are known for their distinctive, retro aesthetic and are often associated with nostalgic and vintage themes. They can be shaped into various letterforms, symbols, or designs, creating a unique and eye-catching display. Neon signs are typically handcrafted by skilled artisans and require specialized expertise for installation and maintenance.
Channel Signs: Channel signs, also known as channel letter signs, offer a different approach to signage. They are constructed using individual 3D letters or shapes made from metal or plastic. These letters are typically hollow and can house various types of lighting sources, such as LED modules. Channel signs provide a clean and modern appearance, with a focus on precision and versatility. They are often used for commercial signage, branding, and storefront displays. Channel signs offer flexibility in terms of design, as they can be customized with different fonts, sizes, and finishes to match specific branding requirements.
In summary, while neon signs utilize gas-filled glass tubes for vibrant illumination, channel signs feature three-dimensional letters or shapes with various lighting options. Neon signs evoke a retro aesthetic, while channel signs offer a modern and customizable approach to signage. The choice between the two depends on the desired visual style, branding objectives, and the specific requirements of the signage project.
In addition to understanding the differences between neon signs and channel signs, our plugin empowers you to leverage the unique qualities of each sign type to create the best possible outcome. Once you’ve named your configuration, you need to select the configuration type for your product.
There are two types of simple configurations: Neon Signs and Channel Signs. In this case, we’ll choose the Neon Signs:
The next step will be to select the Pricing model you’d like to use. Since this is a simple configuration, the way to go is the Simple Pricing model.
The simple pricing model is designed with simplicity in mind, making it easier for beginners to understand and navigate. It typically offers straightforward pricing structures without complex tiers, add-ons, or hidden costs. This clarity allows beginners to quickly grasp the pricing structure and make informed decisions.
The last step in creating a simple configuration is the option to import Demo data. We highly recommend this if this is your first time using a pricing model:
Make sure to save your configuration once you’ve selected all your parameters.
Size
After creating your Configuration, navigate to your configuration settings and click on “Sizes” to access a range of available options.
It is essential to add all the desired sizes before proceeding to add pricing information.
Option of choosing the preferred created size is available for use and if not any of the created size is selected then the top size will be used by default.
Click on Add new size in order to add a new size for your configurator:
On the new page, fill in all the required details about the size you want to add:
Label: Enter the desired name for the Size you want to include (e.g., small/big).
Description: Provide a description that outlines the specific dimensions of the Size (e.g., minimum 10cm and maximum 60cm).

Maximum lines of text: Specify the maximum number of lines of text permitted for this Size (e.g., 1, 2, or 3 lines).

Once you have completed all the necessary details, click the Save button located in the bottom right corner to save your changes.
Pricing
Click Add New Pricing to set up a new pricing rule.
For simple pricing rules, once you’ve defined the label for your pricing rule, all you have to do is set a base price for each line of sign and a price per letter. This will need to be set for the number of lines you’ve set as the maximum for this size.
This will be the rule followed for all signs made with the sign size you’ve selected: In this case, we’ll define a pricing rule for our previously created “Simple Neon” size:
In simple mode, the price of a neon sign is determined by its size, number of characters, number of lines, and font.
Here’s an example to help out:
The sign says “This is a sign”
The customer has chosen a simple font Simple Neon size.
There is only one line of text for this sign.
The base price for a small-sized line of text is $10.
The sign has 11 text characters, and the price per character for this line is $10.
Calculation:Base Price + (text characters x price per character)
Result:10 + (11 x 10) = $120.00
Advanced Pricing Mode
Welcome, experienced sign creators, in this tutorial we explore advanced configurations that can elevate your sign creation projects to new heights. If you are a beginner or new to sign creation, we highly recommend starting with the simple configurations tutorials to build a solid foundation before delving into the advanced realm. So, sharpen your skills, embrace the challenges, and let your creativity soar as you dive into the world of advanced sign configuration.
In order to create an Advanced Configuration, please navigate to the Configuration section and select Add New Configuration:

There are two types of simple configurations: Neon Signs and Channel Signs. We’ll choose the Neon Signs:

The last step in creating an advanced configuration is the option to import Demo data. We highly recommend this for a smoother process.
Make sure to save your configuration once you’ve selected all your parameters.
Size
A size in the advanced configuration is in fact a sign factor of the overall sign’s total size.
To grasp the concept, let’s break it down using an example:
Imagine we have a font with specific size configurations. The smallest letter height is set at 4 inches, and for the smallest uppercase letters, it is defined as 7 inches.
Now, let’s explore two scenarios:
Scenario 1: A customer inputs the letter “e” and selects the medium size. Based on the given calculations, we can determine the resulting height. In this case, we multiply the smallest height (4 inches) by the size scale multiplier (2.5). As a result, the height measures 10 inches.
Scenario 2: Let’s consider a customer typing the letter “B” and choosing the small size. By applying the calculations, we can determine the resulting height. Here, we multiply the smallest height (7 inches) by the size scale multiplier (0.8). Consequently, the height becomes 5.6 inches.
By examining these scenarios, we gain a better understanding of how the font size settings interact with different letters and the selected size options.
Please remember this
After creating your Configuration, navigate to your configuration settings and click on “Sizes” to set up your size multiplier.
Option of choosing the preferred created size is available for use and if not any of the created size is selected then the top size will be used by default.
Label: Enter the desired name for the Size you want to include (e.g., small/big).
Description: Provide a description that outlines the specific dimensions of the Size.
Minimum Text Characters: Minimum number of text characters required for the sign.
Maximum Sign Width: A limit on the width dimension of the sign.
Unlimited Width: There are no restrictions or limitations on the width dimension of the sign. The sign can be as wide as desired without any predefined width boundaries.
Limited Width: There is a constraint on the width dimension of the sign. The sign cannot exceed the defined width value
Maximum Sign Height: Similar to the maximum sign width, this focuses on setting a limit on the height dimension of the sign.
Unlimited Height: That there are no restrictions or limitations on the height dimension of the sign.
Limited Height: There is a constraint on the height dimension of the sign. The sign cannot exceed the defined height value.
CUSTOM SIZING:
Allow customers to modify the sign’s width using a range slider.
Maximum Range in centimeters:It defines the maximum value that the range slider can be adjusted to when setting the size of the sign. If left blank, it will default to a maximum range of 300 centimeters.
It determines the increment or step size by which the custom size can be adjusted.
Resize is a new option that make desktop and mobile font resizable , you have the Default font size which you can change.
When set on auto resize you can set the minimum and maximum font size in advanced for it to automatically adjust on both a mobile or desktop screen
Once you have completed all the necessary details, click the Save button located in the bottom right corner to save your changes.
Pricing
Pricing in our advanced configuration operates on a sophisticated algorithm that considers several factors. These include the chosen letter pricing type, the combination of pricing inputs utilized, and the final width and height dimensions of the sign.
In order to add a new pricing method, click on “add new Pricing”. From there on you will have to give your pricing method a name and chose whether to use “Fixed cost per Letter” or “Letter material cost”.
Through our price formula editor, you have the flexibility to create multiple size ranges that align with the cost and profitability aspects associated with constructing and shipping a sign to your customers.
Max size range:
This establishes a dimension range based on the sign’s width and height, where the subsequent pricing inputs are applied.
Shipping Cost:
This feature enables precise price calculations for total shipping expenses. It associates a specific cost per square centimeter with the sign’s dimensional size, utilizing the width and height values. Learn more about calculating your shipping costs.
Fixed Letter Pricing:
You can set a fixed price per letter, such as $7 USD. This allows for consistent pricing regardless of letter type or design.
Letter Material Cost:
Define the cost of the material used to create the sign’s letters, and price it based on a per-centimeter basis. Materials range from flexible neon to glass, metal, wood, and more. It’s essential to understand the actual cost of the required materials, as an average price based on letter size may not accurately reflect the true cost. Utilize our article guide to assist you in determining material costs.
Base Price:
The base price incorporates any additional expenses necessary to construct the sign within the specified dimensional size range. This can include factors such as building costs or other related expenses.

ASO Concepts/Terms
We believe that every design is based on a material, whether printed or engraved. We’ve therefore introduced the concept of material into our App, distinguishing between two types of material: simple and advanced. For a realistic view of designs, we’ve integrated method fixings representing the different design support methods, and shapes highlighting the different forms our design can take.
Here are a few terms to help you understand the lexicon of the App and how it works.
ASO: All signs Options (Sign Product customizer App)
Material: The base substances used for creating signs (e.g., wood, vinyl, acrylic).
Material simple: The simple material mode offers your customers flexibility by allowing them to manipulate the shape, color and border of the material used. It is therefore a material in its standard form, allowing different variations to be applied to the material.
Material advanced: The advanced material mode presents specific variations of the material chosen by the user, with less flexibility when it comes to variations applied to the material. Advanced material comes with its own size, background, shape and border.
Configuration: It’s a set of defined properties or options that is assigned to a product to make that product becomes customizable. It contains the various parameters required to load and run the editor attached to the customizable product.
Customizer/Configurator : A editor within ASO that allows users to personalize their sign designs and get a realistic view of their designs.
Fixing method : The techniques used to mount or display signs (e.g., adhesive, screws).
Shape : The shape of the sign can be square, round, triangle, polygonal, etc…
Template : Pre-designed sign layouts that can be customized.

To display the configurator normally, it needs to be attached to a WooCommerce product. This makes the product customizable, so you can customize it.
There are two ways to display the configurator:
step 1-The first method is to assign the configuration to the product by editing an existing product or creating a new WooCommerce product. After creating your configuration, you can go to the product’s editing area and you’ll see a select list of your configurations. Choose the configuration you want to attach to this product and save.
Then go to the configurable product page and you’ll see the configuration button, which will take you to the configuration page. You can then link this button directly to your menu, for example, to enable access to the configuration page directly from the menu.
For this method to work properly, you must define in global settings the page that will be used to display the configurator.
Step 2- The second method is to use the shortcode that allows you to display the configurator directly anywhere on a page. For this option you need to use the shortcode [ncpc-configurator productid=’…’] where productid is the id of the product to which you want the configuration to be assigned. For example, if my product ID is 59, to display the configurator on a page, I’d simply add the short code “[ncpc-configurator productid=’59’]” at a precise point on my page, and the configurator would be displayed.
In this way, the configuration must be linked to the product in order to load the configurator properly, either via the shortcode or by editing the product.
Simple Pricing Mode
In this guide, we will walk you through the Simple Configuration, a perfect starting point for creators new to the sign industry. Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur, an everyday Larry, or simply looking to add a touch of visual flair to your signs, this tutorial will provide you with the essential knowledge and tools to create stunning neon sign effects. Get ready to make a glowing impression as we unveil the secrets behind this user-friendly configuration type.
In order to create a Simple Configuration, please navigate to the Configuration section and select Add New Configuration:
The first step in create a configuration is giving it a distinct name:
Width: Enter the maximum width for the Size (e.g., 60cm).
Maximum lines of text: Specify the maximum number of lines of text permitted for this Size (e.g., 1, 2, or 3 lines).
Minimum Text Characters: Specify the minimum number of text characters allowed for the entire sign. If left blank, the default minimum will be set to 3 characters per line, and the user will be unable to add fewer than 3 characters per line.
Maximum Text Characters per line: Indicate the maximum number of text characters permitted per line (e.g., 20 characters per line). The user will be restricted from exceeding this limit.

We’ve therefore introduced the concept of material into our plugin, distinguishing between two types of material: simple and advanced. For a realistic view of designs, we’ve integrated method fixings representing the different design support methods, and shapes highlighting the different forms our design can take.
Here are a few terms to help you understand the lexicon of the plugin and how it works.
ASO: All signs Options (Sign Product customizer plugin)

With NCPC, you can capitalize on the distinct characteristics of neon signs, harnessing their retro charm and vibrant glow to bring a nostalgic ambiance to your website. Simultaneously, you can tap into the precision and modern aesthetic of channel signs, customizing 3D letters or shapes with various lighting options to achieve a sleek and professional look. Additional Options
Setting
Assign/Display Configuration

Materials are an additional option that only apply to neon signs. They can be added for both simple neon configurations and advanced neon configuration. In order to add a material, click on addition options and navigate to the material section:
Provide a label for the material. This label will be displayed to your clients, so make sure it accurately represents the material you’re adding. For example, if you’re adding a wood material, you can label it as “Wood” or any other descriptive term.
Next, include a short description of the material. This description will help your clients understand the characteristics and features of the material you’re offering. Be concise and informative, highlighting the unique aspects of the material.
To give your clients a visual representation of the material, upload an image showcasing it. This image should accurately depict the appearance, texture, and quality of the material. It will assist your clients in visualizing how the material will look in their chosen sign design.
If you’d like to assign pricing options to the material, you have the flexibility to do so. Decide on the pricing structure for each material, whether it’s a fixed price or based on specific criteria. Ensure that the pricing aligns with the value and cost of the material.
Once you have provided the necessary details, save the material. It will now be available as an additional option for your clients when customizing their signs.
